When you click “Remember me” on a sign-in page, XtraMath uses the browser’s LocalStorage system to remember your sign-in information. (If you are using the mobile app, this information is stored as app data.) This is also how our website and app remember any classes that are set up for classroom sign-in.
Use of LocalStorage is not required to use XtraMath. Account data is stored on our servers, so clearing data from your local device will not delete your account or erase your student’s progress.
Instructions (website)
The exact steps will vary, depending on your browser. If the following does not work for you, search the internet for “clear local storage” along with your browser.
- Chrome: Go to the XtraMath sign-in page and press F12. Select Clear Storage, in the Application section. Check that it will be clearing data for https://xtramath.org, rather than another domain, then click the Clear site data button. Refresh the page to see changes.
- Firefox: Go to the XtraMath sign-in page and press Shift+F9. Click Local Storage to expand . Right click on https://xtramath.org from the list, and select Delete All. Refresh the page to see changes.
- Safari: Open the Safari menu and select Preferences. Click the Privacy tab. Below the “Remove all website data” button (don’t click this unless you want to clear local data for all websites!), you’ll see information about how many sites have stored data. Click the Details button. Now you’ll see a list of domains with stored data. Scroll down to find xtramath.org and select it. Click Remove. Click Done to close the window.
- Edge: Go to the XtraMath sign-in page and press F12. Find the Application section (if you can’t see it, try clicking the upper right menu with three dots, then looking in More tools). Select Clear Storage, in the Application section. Check that it will be clearing data for https://xtramath.org, rather than another domain, then click the Clear site data button. Refresh the page to see changes.
Instructions (mobile app)
The exact steps will vary, depending on your device. If the following does not work for you, search the internet for “clear app data” along with your mobile OS version.
- Apple: You will need to uninstall and reinstall the app in order to delete all app data.
- Android: Go to Settings, then Apps & notifications. Find the XtraMath app, then tap Storage. Tap Clear data (if you don’t see this, tap Manage space).
- Amazon: Go to Settings, then Applications. Tap Manage Installed Applications, then find the XtraMath app and tap Clear data.
