Teacher Guide

In this guide, you'll find everything you need to take your first steps into XtraMath.

Signing Up

Sign up with your email address

1. Go to the Signup page to get started, or click Create account on our website or Sign Up on our mobile app’s home screen.

2. On the signup page, provide your email address, name, and a password. You can also choose to sign up through a service like Google or Clever. If you want to use Clever, see the directions and comments on the Sign up with the Clever integration page. For ClassLink, see What if my school uses ClassLink?

💡 "Remember me" allows you to sign in next time by simply clicking your name. Don’t use this option on shared devices or computers! If someone else uses the device, they’ll be able to sign into your account.

3. Answer a few additional questions to set up the account:

  • Teacher, Family or School? This affects how your students are organized, and what Premium license options are available. If you send home flyers to encourage at-home use, your students’ parents can link to their school accounts to follow their progress.
  • Age verification - Children cannot sign up for XtraMath on their own. A teacher or parent must do it for them.
  • Terms of Service: For security reasons, you will need to accept XtraMath's terms and conditions in order to use the app.

4. Click Sign up and you’ll be signed into your new account!

Sign up with Clever

XtraMath’s rostering integration with Clever is available through the Clever Library. Every time you sign into your XtraMath teacher account via Clever, it syncs with Clever to keep your classes up to date. This makes class setup easier, since students are automatically added to the correct roster. The integration also allows your students to sign in to XtraMath using their Clever accounts. Here is how you can connect your existing XtraMath teacher account with Clever:

If you were already using XtraMath

If your students have used XtraMath already, this may result in duplicate student accounts. In this case, your students' previous accounts can be found in their previous classroom tabs. Their new accounts will be found in tabs corresponding to your Clever classes. Your students will access these accounts by signing in with Clever. Students using a new account will need to take a Placement Quiz again - this can take 1 to 3 sessions. After the quiz they will resume Progress Quizzes and Practices with a set of facts appropriate to their current fluency. Once you're satisfied with your newly rostered classes, you may remove your previous classes from your account.Students may sign in through their Clever portal or via our student sign-in page, using either Clever or their new XtraMath credentials. If students sign in with XtraMath credentials, please ensure students use the name and PIN corresponding to their new accounts so that their work is recorded to the correct, Clever-linked account.

Sign up with your Classlink

Your school or district administrator chooses which class rosters to provide to XtraMath. XtraMath syncs with the school or district's ClassLink Rostering Server every night, so any changes or additions to rosters will appear in XtraMath by the next day. If you run into issues where you are missing a class or an individual student, talk to your administrator and make sure the roster looks correct within ClassLinkInstructions for ClassLink administrators can be found here.
